VIRGO FULL MOON

The Full Moon rises in service-oriented Virgo on March 1, 2018. This is an ideal time to finish outstanding projects, complete health goals, and submit job applications. Because fantasy-oriented Neptune opposes this Full Moon, we are challenged to be realistic. Rather than strive for perfection, it's better to meet deadlines. When you can't get what you want, settle for what you need.

Dedicated Saturn does make a trine to this Full Moon, which indicates its effects will be long-lasting and beneficial. One completed assignment will lead to a regular series of projects. Any job that is accepted should be a source of steady income. This Full Moon builds solid foundations, not springboards.

Virgo is a practical Earth sign, adaptable and dexterous as it is ruled by Mercury. Under Virgo’s critical eye, details come into sharp focus. As this sign opposes spiritual Pisces, the urge is to create heaven on Earth.

Instinctively there is a need to be of service. With Virgo at work, we want to make improvements. We hone skills, make changes and analyse data. Our satisfaction comes from a job well done, greater efficiency and better health and not praise or accolades.

This Full Moon in Virgo however, has her work cut out for her as she opposes both the Sun and Neptune in Pisces. The Moon-Sun opposition sets the conscious mind at odds with the unconscious and shadow material can be projected on others. The Moon-Neptune opposition is slippery, reflecting only what we want to see. Some may take advantage of Virgo’s natural desire to help, hoodwinking us into giving more than we have to give. It’s important that we remain discerning, carefully choosing who needs our help and where our energies would be most effectively placed.

With Mercury, the ruler of this lunation, it could feel like everything we touch just flows through our fingers. It’s hard to contain and difficult to organise. We could also feel intellectually compromised as a lack of planets in air signs makes it hard to think. What’s more, the atmosphere is super-sensitive which is challenging for the no-nonsense Virgo Moon.

In Pisces our guard is down. We’re soft and malleable, changeable, utterly ruled by a swell of emotion. And Virgo doesn’t know what to do with it. Instinctively she wants to put it all in order but there’s so much that feels out of place that we feel in danger of being overwhelmed.

The great sea of the collective unconscious is surging. In the waters of Pisces, we want unity and connection. The push grows to find a way to live in harmony. In this sign we feel each other’s sorrow. Compassion flows and we begin to envision ideal scenarios to ease suffering and promote cohesion. But Mercury’s square to angry Mars in far-sighted Sagittarius suggests the problem is that not everyone has the same vision. Mars is currently travelling with Vesta; whose action is to concentrate. Some may be passionately devoted to their philosophy and on a crusade to keep the light of their belief alive.

The Full Moon trines sensible Saturn in Capricorn. Saturn reminds us that we can take it slow. We don’t have to resolve everything at once. If we feel lost, all we need to do is to touch base with something real and tangible. Focusing on the practicalities, something Virgo is good at anyway, will help to channel the rising tide of emotions into something constructive.

This is the time to change the rules of how we work. We can unite to take on take on the authorities. It is the time when divisive people are held accountable and are challenged. It is a time when people sense that things need to change, and they want to be part of that change. We are seeing in in The Me-Too movement and the students demanding change.

Mercury’s conjunctions to Venus and Chiron shows that speaking from the heart can go a long way towards addressing the wounds between people. These three bodies all trine wise Jupiter in Scorpio as well so talking about what hurts builds bridges and deepens bonds. The Mercury-Pluto sextile invites us to speak the truth, to talk about the hard stuff.

There is also the potential to channel the whisper of our intuition into something that has real power to change the structure of our lives.

IF YOU"RE WAITING FOR A SIGN , THIS IS IT!
